Servers

All our servers run on enterprise class hardware that is built from the ground up to be high performance and most importantly - highly reliable. All servers utilize RAID arrays for reliable storage and run multi-core processors for the best performance. Web-2u is also a strong proponent of virtualization technology and we utilize VMware as a hypervisor of our virtual machines (VMs). This gives us the ability to quickly switch our entire systems to spare servers and minimize downtime in the event of a hardware failure.

Topology

Web-2u runs its network in two Auckland data facilities as a means of redundancy and disaster recovery (DR). Our primary site runs in a dedicated data center in the Auckland CBD, this synchronizes a multitude of data on the fly to our DR site (in South-East Auckland) while also doing a complete system backup both daily and weekly to this site.

Our data facilities are purpose built to provide a high availability and fast hosting platform. They include features such as:

• Fast internet connectivity (up to 1gbps)
